Yellow dock is a blood purifier and a good tonic for the organism. It has a very good reputation for promoting a good function of the liver and colon, and for skin disorders. It contains easily digestible iron. It reduces accumulation of wastes.
Yellow dock root is specific for a variety of chronic and acute skin diseases, including psoriasis, urticaria, and eczema (all of a hot and inflammatory nature). It is a blood purifier and cleanser, and tones up the entire system. It is also used to treat liver disorders and iron deficiency, liberating iron that is stored in the liver. It is used for anemia during pregnancy—and anemia generally. It is good for treating rheumatism and bile congestion. As an astringent, it treats hemorrhoids and bleeding from the lungs. It has a tonic–laxative effect and functions similarly to rhubarb as a purgative, but has a milder action.
