Founded in 1985 by Peter Wilkes, the company emerged from a passion for natural health solutions. The name symbolizes a rejuvenation of the body and mind, reflecting our commitment to transitioning from harmful habits to healthy new beginnings.
Today, we offer over 400 natural health products, all rigorously tested for identity, purity, and potency in an on-site, ISO 17025–accredited laboratory, NHP Laboratories. We continue to invest in research and development for advanced delivery systems, such as our GPS™ enteric-coating system to protect probiotics from stomach acid. While delayed-release and acid-resistant capsules leak and cause probiotics to be destroyed, our GPS™ enteric-coating system guarantees intestinal delivery of live probiotic cells.

Local Production
Have you heard the expression “If you want something done right, do it yourself”? At New Roots Herbal, we’ve done exactly this. Our products are manufactured right here in Canada, where we can assure the highest quality standards possible. Our production facility is located in Vaudreuil-Dorion, just west of Montréal, in Québec.
Production Excellence
Doing something yourself has merit, but doing it right holds integrity. We continuously invest in equipment and training to ensure our production facility is unsurpassed in quality.
In the past decade, we expanded our production department from just under 60,000 sq. ft. to a state-of-the-art facility comprising 127,000 sq. ft.
We adhere to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines, which includes the strictest quality-control specifications for natural health supplements.
Powders Department
Our powders department enables us to create over 350 unique products. Refined grinding and sieving of ingredients ensure particle uniformity and consistency and also prevents clumping.
Encapsulation
Our encapsulation department includes 12 specialized rooms with 5 state-of-the-art machines able to encapsulate various powder blends. Machines are utilized based on capsule size, formula complexity, and batch size.
Liquid Products
We offer over 50 liquid products, including essential oils and exotic skin oils, plant extracts, and tinctures. Our automated bottling line ensures consistency, maintaining the integrity of our liquids from start to finish.
Technological Investments
We are continuously investing to improve operations and speed up production. We recently increased our bottling capacity to 5 automatic bottling lines. Each line is managed by 3 operators who oversee the smooth operation of the machinery.

Regulated for Reassurance
Our team of 6 regulatory experts stay abreast on the latest clinical studies. They work diligently with Health Canada to get our licenses, so that emerging nutraceuticals are quickly available to our consumers. The team verifies and approves all product labels to ensure they comply with Health Canada’s guidelines regarding claims, usage, warnings, contraindications, and known adverse reactions.

Throughout the production process, our combined team of 19 quality-control and quality-assurance professionals work towards one simple goal: providing you with the best and safest products. They start with verification of raw ingredients, ensure adherence to GMP guidelines at every step, monitor equipment to keep precise production standards, and ensure that every batch of finished products gets properly tested, before they give their stamp of approval to be released for distribution.
